This Argentinian born illustrator currently resides in Spain. From 1988-1991 Varela studied with Alberto Salinas at Garaycochea Drawing School. In 2007 he won an award at the Film Festival Madrid in the shorts category for "Jazz Song" as well as an award for Best Music at Jornada Internacional de Cine de Bahía for "Jazz Song".
