étapes: diseño y cultura visual




 




























This spanish edition of offers a global, international and eternal glance on the design and the graphical culture, without ignoring the initial theme of the local context.


After the release of the French edition (1994) and of the international edition (2004), in charge of Pyramyd Éditions, in March of 2008 the Publishing house Gustavo Gili released the Spanish version of étapes:. This edition of the magazine for Spain and Latin America offers a global, international and eternal glance on the design and the graphical culture, without ignoring the initial theme of the local context. Each I number of étapes: design and visual culture directly include articles related to the diversity and wealth surrounding Spanish and Latin Americans. The magazine is released quarterly and transgresses the voracious rate of renovation imposed to products of the publishing market. Against the volatile consumption of cultural products, étapes: it has book vocation and it includes articles that do not expire and whose interest goes beyond the immediacy and what is typical.

The section the 'Present Time' offers a panoramic view on works carried out with different disciplines, for instance urban art, the cartelismo, communication, edition, photography, illustration, the corporative identity, packaging or the señalética, just to name a few. The 'Fondo & Form' section explores in depth subjects about visual culture through profusely informed news articles and concrete studies around well-known names in design. And, finally, the section 'Text(s)' publishes reflections on design and visual culture by means of tests, interviews, articles of opinion and book reviews.

Maria Serrano, art editor of the magazine, is also member of the Young Illustrators Award`s jury.
