Slanted #12 OUT NOW

Beat That If You Can! Beat That If You Can!

A Night at the Opium Den at Direktorenhaus

November 5th from 9pm at Direktorenhaus
Entry with Guestlist spot only - go here to register.

With “Opium Den” a new season opens at Direktorenhaus. On the occasion of the new exhibition Direktorenhaus’ doors are opened on the 5th November for a night of artistic extremes as internationally renowned artists transform the building -- which is located by the old harbour of the Spree river next to Alexanderplatz-- into an unreal and magical scenery. Direktorenhaus will be filled with performance both oblique and subtle that blur the lines between performer and audience. In the Opium Den everything is possible: the dark, the daunting, the psychedelic and the decadent.

WHO, Talents Agency

WHO is the first creative talent agency in Portugal. At present, it is the only Portuguese agency involved in the exclusive promotion and management of freelance artists.

The agency also manages an online domain/portal dedicated to presenting national and international creative portfolios.

WHO was established in 1999 by Ema Ceveira at a time when there was little support available to new and emerging artists. The majority of local artists lacked job opportunities, marketing, promotion and arts management. WHO was conceived in response to their needs and for the past 10 years, has been providing support and a variety of permanent arts management solutions.

Blog of the Week

Atypica is an Argentine art blog based on their magazine "Atypica: for people who do everything for the love of Art".

Atypica observes trends in order to discover new things in design and culture.  It walks the streets taking in the highlights observed by it's eye for the unique.  Atypica listens to the background music and pumps the volume only when it's worth it.  It smells what's coming, what's coming back in and what has past it's used by date.  It feels the ground tremble when something stamps hard, and grabs at what others leave out for being too strange.
